Standard High School Program

The Standard Program is a traditional high school program that satisfies basic high school requirements for admission to most colleges. It also prepares the student to take the ACT or SAT exams.

Requirements: Students in the BYU Independent Study Standard High School Program must complete a minimum of three courses every six months to remain in the program. In order to complete the program in four years, a student should complete at least six courses every six months.

Note: Although most colleges accept credits from the BYU Independent Study High School Program, the student should always consult with his or her individual college before enrolling.

HIST 41 & HIST 43 (U.S. History)
GEOG 41 (World Geography)

Complete any two of these courses GOVT 41, GOVT 43, GOVT 45, ECON 43
Complete one of these courses HIST 66, HIST 67
Math
(3 credits)
Complete all of these courses:

Algebra 1: ALG 51 & ALG 53

Complete any two sequences:

Pre-Algebra: ALG 41 & ALG 43
Algebra 2: ALG 55 & ALG 57
Precalculus: CALC 41 & CALC 43
Plane Geometry: GEOM 41 & GEOM 43
Applied Math: Math 47& Math 49
Trigonometry: TRIG 41 & TRIG 43
Science

Complete both Sequences:
