This course is designed for the beginning drummer and focuses on creating a solid drumming foundation. Throughout the course, students will study the fundamentals of playing the drum set. Unit topics include developing proper technique, learning to read music for the drum set, and learning to play essential groove and fill ideas.
Must have access to drum sticks, a full drum set (floor tom, rack tom[s], snare drum, bass drum and pedal, ride cymbal, crash cymbal, hi-hat cymbal), and drum throne; a way to make a digital video recording of yourself playing the drums; and a webcam for appointments with the instructor.
