This course will help students become conversational in the most common topics—discussing the weather and different seasons in the year, telling age, and sharing what each student wants to be when he or she grows up. In this course, students will continue using the dative case, which is used to talk about age. Students will also see the instrumental case again; this will aid them as they talk about what occupies their time and what they want to become. Lastly, students will learn how to use every child's favorite two words, "why" and "because." There are also cultural highlights; as a result, students will learn more about Russia and the Russian people. This is the fourth course in a four-part Russian series (RUSS 041, RUSS 043, RUSS 051, and RUSS 053) and is a continuation of Second-Year Russian, Part 1 (RUSS 051).
The course includes "live" online speaking appointments and direct feedback from an instructor or TA. A webcam, microphone, and speakers are necessary to conduct these appointments. This course does not allow assignment resubmissions or exam retakes.
